Avoid big legal fees
Often only a short conversation with a lawyer is what's needed to understand a legal situation. Save yourself from legal headaches and from exorbitant fees other lawyers charge.
Take the guesswork out of contracts
At minimum, all businesses need contracts that comply with the latest legislation and case law. But, having a business expert to explain how a contract works is even better. The #MeLawyer package gives you both at a flat rate.
Legal help is never far away
Get support on any legal situation that comes up in your day-to-day business - even at short notice. An initial assessment of any legal problem only takes a phone call.
FAQs
Which areas of law can I get an initial legal consultation?
Within the initial consultation flat rate (#FreeLawyer), an unlimited number of initial legal consultations can be taken up in the following areas: corporate law, commercial law, labour law, IT and media law, data protection law, competition law, copyright law, IP and trademark law.
Can I really use unlimited legal advice?
Yes, as a #FreeLawyer subscriber, you have access to our curated network of lawyers and advisers and can take advantage of unlimited legal advice.
For each legal matter, you can receive a 30-minute initial consultation. The only limitation is that you can only use one free initial consultation of 30 minutes per legal issue. In other words, you cannot call more than once about the same legal issue or exceed the 30-minute time limit.
A 30-minute legal consultation is enough to get a basic understanding of most legal issues you might have.
What happens during the consultation?
The purpose of the consultation is to make an initial assessment of your situation and what your options are. The advice gives you what you need to decide whether taking further legal steps is worthwhile.
Included is a consultation over the phone from an independent lawyer regarding your business legal issues and, if relevant, your non-business activity.
Common legal issues that businesses need advice on are related to leasing, purchasing and renting. Other common issues include debt collection, insolvency, compensation for damages, warranties and warnings. Questions about company structure, day-to-day operations, and contract law (but only for issues concerning a single clause) are also commonplace.
The lawyers are also happy to help with problems with business partners, competitors, questions regarding authorship, criminal law, or labour and administrative legal disputes.
What is not included in the initial consultation?
Please note, you can't request consultations for the following things:
Tax consulting: For all tax-related questions, you can book an initial assessment at a fixed price here.
Preparation of contracts and other legal documents
Complex legal problems that can't be properly assessed during an initial consultation
How can I book the initial telephone consultation?
As a subscriber, you just need to use a short online form to submit a request for an initial consultation. The form asks you to enter the details such as the area of law, description of the facts, etc. The request is then sent to a law firm specialising in the relevant area of law. The firm then reaches out to you as the client to organise the initial consultation.
For each issue you want to book a consultation for, a separate online request is required.
What happens if I need more legal help after the initial consultation?
If you as a subscriber wish to receive further legal services after the initial consultation, you can receive a fixed-price offer with special conditions from the partner lawyer/consultant.
Which contracts can I get access to as a #MeLawyer subscriber?
The #MeLawyer package gives you access to all essential business contracts and document templates for founders and SMEs. For example, the managing director employment contract, non-disclosure agreements and employment contracts to the shareholder resolution on the adoption/approval of the annual financial statements.
If you are unsure how to use a template or want to adapt it to meet your individual needs, firma.de's external lawyer network is here to help.
How do I access the contracts?
As a subscriber, you can request a template contract in 20 seconds via an online form. You then receive the contract from firma.de after it’s checked by an expert business lawyer.
The lawyers in our network continuously work on the contract templates to keep them up-to-date with the current laws. This is why you can't download the contracts instantly.
How does the personal guidance on the contracts work?
For each contract template, you get a personal phone consultation from a German business expert who can instruct you on how to use the contract.
After the personal consultation, you should be able to fill in the contract in the right places and use it for your business.
If you would like to make changes to the contract template or adapt it to your circumstances, you can get this legal service from a lawyer within the firma.de network at a reduced price.
